Preparation

Heat Oil: In a deep fryer or heavy pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Make sure you have enough oil to submerge the beignets.

1. Fry the Beignets

* Fry in Batches of 3/5 : Carefully drop a few hearts of dough into the hot oil, being mindful not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.

* Remove and Drain: Use a slotted spoon to remove the beignets and place them on a baking sheet lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

2. Serve

* Dust with Powdered Sugar: While the beignets are still warm, dust them generously with powdered sugar.

* Enjoy: Serve immediately while they’re warm and fluffy. They’re best eaten fresh!
